Educação e política: notas sobre a formação do homem e do cidadão em Rousseau

Nosso interesse no presente artigo é analisar alguns dos escritos rousseaunianos, nos quais o autor examina e desenvolve os temas da educação pública, como é o caso do Discurso sobre a economia política e das Considerações sobre o governo da Polônia, e da educação doméstica e natural, tal como ocorre no Emílio. Interessa mostrar como este tema vincula-se ao pensamento político do autor. Nestes escritos Rousseau estabelece vínculos necessários entre a vontade política dos governos e a boa formação de cidadãos virtuosos, competentes e preocupados com o destino da comunidade. Por outro lado, desenvolve também uma intensa crítica aos valores estabelecidos ao propor o que ele chamou de pedagogia negativa, conceito que permeia tanto o Emílio quanto as Considerações sobre o governo da Polônia.Downloads
