Abstract

O presente artigo procura demonstrar como o tema da diversidade étnico-racial e cultural vem sendo desenvolvido nas séries iniciais do ensino fundamental, nas escolas públicas paulistas. O texto apresenta uma análise crítica ao material didático disponibilizado aos professores pela Secretaria de Educação do Estado de São Paulo (SEESP), para que eles desenvolvam suas ações educativas. Avaliando as Expectativas de Aprendizagem contidas no Currículo Oficial, com base na análise do conteúdo categorial, identificamos que o poder público, contribui de forma planejada para a discriminação de temas étnico-raciais, por meio das políticas educacionais e do controle das práticas curriculares do cotidiano escolar.
