Abstract

Embora sendo difícil estabelecer padrões para a vida humana, visto que fatores culturais e sociais exercem muitas influências na vida de cada pessoa, existem alguns aspectos que são gerais e costumam ocorrer em populações de sociedades ocidentais industrializadas. O presente estudo bibliográfico busca, mediante fundamentação principal em Bee (1997) e Papalia, Olds e Feldman (2009), analisar o processo de desenvolvimento humano, destacando as diferentes fases da vida, bem como a idade e principais características de cada fase. Assim, analiso inicialmente a questão do desenvolvimento, para em seguida comentar sobre a concepção e período pré-natal, as fases correspondentes à infância, adolescência e idade adulta, incluindo o idoso, para finalmente refletir sobre a morte que marca o fim do ciclo vital. Espero que o artigo possa contribuir com professores e demais profissionais que trabalham com a formação de seres humanos, uma vez que todas as pessoas, inclusive os profissionais da educação, encontram-se em alguma das fases do ciclo vital.

Doutora em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul. Professora do Programa de Pós-graduação em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul Campus de Corumbá (UFMS/CPAN). Líder do Grupo de Estudo e Pesquisa em Desenvolvimento, Gênero e Educação (GEPDGE).
