Abstract

Este artigo visa analisar e discutir o material da coleção “Saiba Mais”, produzida pelos Estúdios Maurício de Souza, com foco em áreas de interesse científico. A coleção “Saiba Mais” apresenta indiscutível potencial para uso paradidático, pois aborda seus diversos temas usando uma linguagem de fácil compreensão para o público de Ensino Fundamental, com personagens bem conhecidos e identificados pelas crianças. Para o presente estudo realizou-se uma análise crítica de parte da coleção, buscando localizar aspectos científicos discutidos nas histórias e sua relevância para o ensino de ciências. Constituíram critérios para a análise: roteiro, exatidão científica, adequação dos passatempos e atividades centrais. Foram percebidos grandes acertos e contribuições ao ensino de ciências para a faixa etária em questão, mas também foram encontrados equívocos em conceitos científicos que poderiam ser evitados com a utilização de uma consultoria técnica. Contudo, tais equívocos não foram considerados graves a ponto de impossibilitar a recomendação da série como material paradidático. O estudo conclui considerando o material adequado para o uso como recurso paradidático, e sugere que o material passe por uma revisão mais cuidadosa de modo a aumentar sua credibilidade e suas possibilidades de uso no ensino de ciências.

Doutoranda em Entomologia pela UFPR, atualmente trabalha no curso de Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas do IFPR campus Palmas, lecionando Zoologia de invertebrados e Histologia vegetal.
