Practices for sustainable development objectives: The case of Bairro da Juventude

Civil society organizations, including third sector companies, have a fundamental role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the focus of the 2030 Agenda. The SDGs are objectives and goals defined by the United Nations (UN), aiming at sustainable development. Objective: This article seeks to analyze the actions developed by the Bairro da Juventude Organization, and the relationship with the Sustainable Development Goals from the perspective of the Triple Botton Line - TBL. The Bairro da Juventude Organization develops actions in the scope of education and serves children and adolescents in the region of Criciúma-SC who live in a situation of vulnerability. Method: The research, of a qualitative character, consists of a case study with the data collected through interviews, direct observation and analysis of the organization's public communications. Content analysis was used to make the interlocution of the information collected and the necessary theoretical connections, providing the diagnosis and prognosis of the actions focusing on the SDGs. Results: The results showed that the organization has developed actions with students and teachers, aiming at promoting and raising awareness of sustainable development and its objectives.
