PERCEPÇÕES DE MEIO AMBIENTE NA VISÃO DE EDUCADORES AMBIENTAIS DE UMA INSTITUIÇÃO HOSPITALAR

A crise ecológica atual é uma transformação da natureza induzida pela concepção metafísica, filosófica, ética, científica e tecnológica do mundo. Diante da complexidade dessa crise e da inexistência e/ou da ineficiência das estratégias para combatê-la, inclusive na área da saúde, é importante refletir sobre os conceitos de meio ambiente que alicerçam as ações de indivíduos envolvidos com a educação ambiental nos hospitais. Objetivo: discutir as concepções de meio ambiente para educadores ambientais de uma instituição hospitalar. Métodos: estudo de caso qualitativo, descritivo-exploratório, realizado entre agosto de 2011 e janeiro de 2012, em um grupo hospitalar de grande porte do Rio Grande do Sul (Brasil). Baseou-se em entrevista individual semiestruturada, envolvendo nove indivíduos, sendo a coleta encerrada por saturação empírica. A análise dos dados foi realizada por intermédio da Análise de Conteúdo. Resultados: foram originadas três categorias acerca do conceito de meio ambiente. A primeira traz uma concepção sistêmica de meio ambiente, englobando o humano em uma ideia de malha planetária. A segunda inclui no conceito de meio ambiente as relações do homem consigo mesmo, com os outros e com seu espaço de trabalho. Já a terceira engloba a noção de modernidade reflexiva e de sociedade de risco. Conclusões: os educadores ambientais alimentam uma concepção ampliada sobre meio ambiente, embora se recomende aumentar discussões sobre o tema, especialmente na enfermagem, rumo a uma abordagem socioambiental sistêmica, capaz de reconhecer as influências da modernidade reflexiva.
