Curricular changes, the insertion of new technologies, the social context and the economic and political conditions of modern society affect the process of teacher training. Based on this understanding, this work presents analyzes, discussion and significance of Health Education (ES), in the initial and continuing teacher training, using the commercial film " My Sister's Keeper (USA, 2009)". The guiding question was: what learning in health education is produced in the discussion of commercial films, in classes of basic or higher education? Twenty-six professors of Biological Sciences, in initial and continuing formation, with systematic training meetings, participated in seven film sessions. In each, the group watched a film and discussed the understandings of health and health education. The sessions were audiographed, transcribed, read and identified the significant excerpts. The Microgenetic Analysis of the transcripts of the discussions produced, showed that the debate and interactions in the group made it possible to broaden and re-signify the understanding of health in an articulation of anatomical, physiological and biochemical, social, emotional and environmental aspects. In addition, issues such as finitude of life, euthanasia, right to dignified death and aging were addressed in the discussion, broadening the understanding of health promotion.
