Abstract: Due to the structural and behavioral changes evidenced in several sectors resulting from the new coronavirus pandemic, this study seeks to identify the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on solid waste management, as well as related alternatives. For this, a systematic review was carried out in the ScienceDirect, Scopus and Portal de Periódicos Capes databases using the Methodi Ordinatio methodology. In total, 27 studies included the final portfolio and were evaluated. The results denote the impacts of the pandemic on waste management associated with the generation of PPE, hospital waste and plastic waste, the change in consumption patterns and the generation of household and food waste, selective collection, as well as differences evident in developed countries and in development. Finally, the recommendations associated with the highlighted points are presented.
