Alimentação intuitiva reduziu a prática de dieta restritiva em estudantes universitários durante a pandemia da covid-19: um estudo de coorte

Resumen

Objetivo. Avaliar a prática de dietas restritivas em estudantes universitários, seus fatores associados e o papel da alimentação intuitiva durante o primeiro e segundo anos da pandemia da COVID-19 no Brasil. Método. Trata-se de um estudo longitudinal, com a primeira coleta de dados realizada no primeiro bimestre da pandemia e início das medidas de distanciamento social no Brasil (maio de 2020), e a segunda coleta de dados no segundo ano da pandemia (março de 2021). A população deste estudo foi composta por 293 estudantes de graduação de uma universidade federal do sudeste do Brasil. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de questionário online (com informações autorrelatadas) e os participantes foram convidados via e-mail institucional e divulgação nas redes sociais. Resultados. Observou-se que ter excesso de peso (OR=2,415; IC=1,326-4,397; p=0,004), seguir perfis fitness/de saúde nas redes sociais (OR=1,915; IC=1,093-3,355; p=0,023) e estar em risco para transtornos alimentares (OR=2,531; IC=1,352-4,739; p=0,004) aumentaram as chances de prática de dietas restritivas por estudantes universitários no início da pandemia da COVID-19. Além disso, praticar atividade física (OR=2,852; IC=1,473-5,521; p=0,002) e preocupar-se com o ganho de peso (OR=2,484; IC=1,235-4,996; p=0,011) aumentaram as chances do mesmo desfecho em o segundo ano da pandemia. Por outro lado, a alimentação intuitiva reduziu significativamente as chances de praticar dieta restritiva (OR=0,601; IC=0,372-0,970; p=0,037). Além disso, foi encontrada diminuição na prática de dietas durante o acompanhamento (p=<0,001). Conclusão. A prática de dietas restritivas diminuiu após o primeiro ano da pandemia e a alimentação intuitiva proporcionou efeito protetor a esta prática.
