DIABETES MELLITUS: PREVALENCIA DE LA NO ADHESIÓN AL TRATAMIENTO FARMACOLÓGICO EN PACIENTES DE SANTO TOMÉ – Corrientes, Argentina

La Diabetes Mellitus es un grupo de enfermedades metabólicas que comparten el fenotipo de la hiperglucemia, que, dejada a su evolución pueden afectar varios órganos y sistemas, siendo responsables de una disminución en la cualidad de vida y una expresiva tasa de morbimortalidad mundial. La baja adhesión al tratamiento es la razón primaria de la reducción del beneficio clínico de su uso, con eso llevando a complicaciones de salud física y psicosocial al paciente. El objetivo del siguiente trabajo es estudiar la prevalencia del incumplimiento al tratamiento medicamentoso en pacientes diabéticos que concurren al consultorio externo del Hospital San Juan Bautista, consultorio privado de clínica médica y en centros de atención primaria de la salud (CIC y Maciel). El siguiente es un estudio observacional, descriptivo, de corte transversal en el cual, se colectó los datos a través de encuestas realizadas a los pacientes con diagnóstico de diabetes que concurren a los lugares en cuestión. Del total de 37 encuestas (100%) el 60 % no cumplen el tratamiento y el 40 % cumple, según la lectura por respuestas afirmativas en el test de Morisky-Green. De 22 personas que no cumplen el tratamiento solo 9 son sientes que por algún motivo no cumplen. El sexo femenino fue más prevalente en las consultas liderando el grupo que cumple y que no cumple el tratamiento.
