ABORDAGEM DE SAÚDE MENTAL NA FORMAÇÃO EM FISIOTERAPIA: CONCEPÇÕES DE DOCENTES DA ÁREA

Estudo com objetivo de conhecer a concepção de docentes fisioterapeutas sobre a formação do graduando dessa área para atuar no campo da saúde mental. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo, descritivo-exploratório, realizado com dez docentes fisioterapeutas em uma universidade pública da Bahia, por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas. Submetidos à análise de conteúdo, os resultados revelaram que a formação do graduando em fisioterapia para atuar na saúde mental apresenta deficiências, pois o conteúdo relacionado ao tema não é abordado de maneira estruturada no curso; mostraram ainda que, a maioria dos participantes da pesquisa também não foram preparados para esse campo do conhecimento enquanto graduandos, o que favorece a continuidade da lacuna na formação do fisioterapeuta. Contudo, alguns participantes reconheceram seu papel na equipe de saúde mental, possivelmente na melhoria da funcionalidade do usuário, considerando que a pessoa em sofrimento mental pode apresentar comprometimentos no sistema motor. Assim, o estudo demonstrou a existência de fragilidades na formação do graduando em fisioterapia, e sugere a necessidade de avançar a discussão sobre o tema e sobre a reformulação curricular.
