Considerando as repercussões do câncer na vida de pessoas de qualquer idade e da família envolvida no processosaúde-doença-tratamento, desenvolveu-se uma atividade a fim de contribuir para melhoria na qualidade de vida dasmesmas. Criou-se, então, o projeto de extensão intitulado “Qualidade de Vida na Hemato-oncologia: Efetivação doEspaço de Convivência e Saúde no setor de Hemato-oncologia adulto do Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria”. Ocâncer, as hospitalizações e o tratamento trazem inúmeras modificações no indivíduo e na família, evidenciando anecessidade de intervenção nesse espaço, criando um ambiente saudável e acolhedor. Este trabalho objetiva fazer umrelato de experiência, utilizando, como método, observações das extensionistas registradas no diário de campo do projeto e o relato dos pacientes. Serão apresentados alguns aspectos teóricos referentes à psicologia hospitalar e àintervenção psicológica com pacientes oncológicos, bem como a discussão desses aspectos com os resultadosmostrados até o momento pelos pacientes.Downloads
