MORTALIDADE DE IDOSOS EM MUNICÍPIO DO INTERIOR DO RS: As Causas Mal Definidas

O envelhecimento populacional é hoje um fenômeno universal. O estudo das causas básicas de mortalidade emidosos permite visualizar seu perfil epidemiológico, embora possa ser prejudicado pela alta proporção de causas maldefinidas. O objetivo deste trabalho é descrever a mortalidade dos idosos por essas causas em município do interiordo Rio Grande do Sul no ano de 2010. A fonte dos dados foi o Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade do Ministérioda Saúde. O instrumento utilizado foi a autópsia verbal. Como resultado da pesquisa verificou-se um decréscimo das mortes sem assistência (R98) de 70,5% para 17,6% e dos óbitos por causas mal definidas e as não especificadas demortalidade (R99) de 15,9% para 4%. Sugere-se métodos que visem a sua diminuição, ressaltando que o fato maisimportante é os médicos preencherem adequadamente as declarações de óbito com as reais causas básicas, relevantes para os indicadores públicos e os familiares.Downloads
