MEDICAMENTOS, IDOSOS E A SUSTENTABILIDADE AMBIENTAL: Um Olhar a Partir da Experiência Pet-Saúde

Abstract

Objetivos: Idosos, medicamentos e cuidado ambiental são pontos convergentes quando falamos em saúde do idoso e medicalização. Métodos: Realizaram-se diversas atividades como: oficinas, workshop, curso de capacitaçãopara Agentes Comunitários de Saúde (ACS) e pesquisa-ação com idosos de Passo Fundo, RS, sobre uso, cuidados e descarte de medicamentos, sabendo-se que estes estão presentes em nossa vida de forma cada vez mais freqüente.Resultados: A participação de tutores, preceptores e alunos petianos, interdisciplinarmente, revelam o potencialinovador destes, diante das atividades propostas e atitudes pró ativas dos beneficiários (ACS e idosos). Discussão:Medicamentos são necessários, porém representam resíduo de impacto ambiental. No Brasil, medicamentos não têmrecebido tratamento adequado quanto ao uso, descarte e destinação final. Conclusão: Atitudes que promovam usoracional, prescrições e orientação adequadas, esclarecimento e conscientização sobre automedicação e descarte dos medicamentos tornam-se imprescindíveis, especialmente ao paciente longevo.

Enfermeira. Doutora em Enfermagem pela Universidade federal de Santa Catarina. Docente do Curso de Enfermagem e do Programade Mestrado em Envelhecimento Humano da UPF, RS, Brasil, Líder do grupo de Pesquisa Vivencer UPF/CNPq.
