Abstract

O vírus HIV, causador da AIDS, é considerado uma pandemia. Após o surgimento do vírus, ocorreu um aumento no número de casos de infecção por tuberculose no mundo.  Este fenômeno é explicado pelo fato de o HIV deprimir o sistema imunológico, permitindo a infecção por doenças oportunistas. O conhecimento dos fatores relacionados à não-adesão ao tratamento em pacientes que apresentam a co-infecção HIV/TB é de suma importância, pois só a partir dele poderão ser criadas estratégias que impeçam a disseminação da tuberculose. Este trabalho busca fornecer um maior esclarecimento sobre a importância de adesão ao tratamento em pacientes com a co-infecçao HIV/TB e
caracteriza-se por se tratar de um estudo de revisão bibliográfica.
