PERFIL, HÁBITOS DE VIDA, PATOLOGIAS E MEDICAMENTOS EM UMA POPULAÇÃO IDOSA DO INTERIOR DO ESTADO DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract

Este estudo teve como objetivo conhecer o perfil, os hábitos, as patologias e a utilização de medicamentos dos idosos de uma cidade do interior do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Foi realizada uma entrevista no domicílio, sendo utilizado um instrumento que buscava coletar dados sociodemográficos, conhecer hábitos de vida e de saúde, identificar a prevalência de patologias e medicações mais utilizadas. Dos 28 indivíduos entrevistados, 12 (42,9%) eram do gênero masculino e 16 (57,1%) do gênero feminino, a média de idade foi de 71,2(±5,1) anos, 64,3% eram casados, 78,6% possuíam somente Ensino Fundamental incompleto. A maioria (85,7%) não consome bebidas alcoólicas, nem é tabagista (93%) e apenas 35,7% praticam atividade física. Dentre os hábitos sociais e de lazer verificouse
que 53,6% frequentam bailes, 60,7% têm o hábito de leitura, 35,7% praticam alguma atividade manual. As patologias relatadas foram hipertensão arterial sistêmica (50%), Diabetes Mellitus (21%) e hipercolesterolemia (18%). Quanto ao uso de medicamentos destacam-se os anti-hipertensivos, utilizados por 50% da população estudada. Conclui-se que os idosos desta cidade do interior do Estado do RS possuem hábitos saudáveis que podem diminuir a necessidade de medicamentos.
