Education and promotion of health in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná - Brazil

This study aimed to identify the actions of education and health promotion developed by professionals of Primary Care in the city of Ponta Grossa - PR. It is a qualitative research, carried out based on semi-structured interviews and thematic content analysis. Data collection took place from May 2019 to April 2020. The survey included 12 professionals who worked in primary care in that municipality. It is concluded that the professionals of the primary care teams performed, in their majority, actions aimed at the prevention of diseases aimed at specific groups and whose objective was to intervene in changing the lifestyle of individuals. It was also found that health education is a tool used to implement health promotion actions.
