Mulheres no Primeiro Parto: suas expectativas

Abstract

Esta é uma pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, exploratória e descritiva que busca apreender as expectativas da mulher em relação ao nascimento de seu primogênito, em hospital, e à assistência neste momento. Utilizou-se entrevistas semi-estruturadas para a coleta de dados com dez mulheres internadas para parto em um hospital paulista. A técnica de análise de conteúdo de Bardin (1977) foi utilizada para análise das informações. Dentre outras expectativas, constata-se que as mulheres preocupam-se com a assistência que receberão
no parto, com a saúde e bem-estar do recém-nascido e, ainda, com a possibilidade em ficarem sozinhas durante o parto, elemento ansiogênico no processo de nascimento. Destaca-se o medo da dor e da morte, ficando evidente a importância da promoção de acompanhamento durante o trabalho de parto ou de possibilitar a escolha de um acompanhante para este  momento, o que contribui para diminuir as possibilidades de que este parto se torne doloroso, difícil e traumatizante.
