Objective: to evaluate the risk of pressure ulcer in users hospitalized with chronic non-communicable diseases who are in the pre- and postoperative period. Method: quantitative, descriptive study, carried out with users aged at least 18 years old, diagnosed with a chronic non-communicable disease, with a minimum hospital stay of 48 hours. Data collection took place in May 2019, and a sociolaboral form and the Braden Scale were used. Qualitative variables were presented in simple and relative frequency, and quantitative variables in measures of central tendency and dispersion measures. Results: 45 people participated, with an average age of 64,5 years. The most common chronic non-communicable disease was systemic arterial hypertension. Four users with pressure ulcer in the sacrococcygeal and calcaneus regions were identified. The predominant risk classification in the groups with and without pressure ulcer was low risk. Conclusion: the results demonstrated the importance of qualified and standardized nursing care in assessing risk and preventing the development of pressure ulcer in the hospital environment.
