CIDADANIA E GLOBALIZAÇÃO: Quem Somos e Para Onde Vamos?

O presente artigo aborda os efeitos da globalização na vida do cidadão. Busca esclarecer o que vem a ser a verdadeira cidadania, bem como analisar o atual contexto de globalização, bem como seus principais efeitos, positivos e negativos, sobre a vida dos cidadãos globais. Num segundo momento trata de apontar algumas alternativas e estratégias visando à minimização dos efeitos negativos deste processo na vida dos seres humanos. Num contexto de crise das instituições político-estatais em razão da globalização hegemômica, é preciso redimensionar o sentido da cidadania dentro da nova realidade planetária, tendo como principal referência a reconstrução do sujeito sem negar a importância das diferenças culturais num mundo cada vez mais plural. É a proposta da alteridade numa sociedade de iguais e de diferentes.
