Circular economy: Scientific production published in the scientific periodicals electronic library (spell) in the light of bibliometrics and the social network

The aim of the study was to investigate the representativeness of scientific production on the circular economy theme published in the SPELL database. Methodologically, bibliometric and social network techniques were used. A synthesis of the findings of this study shows: Revista de Administração da UFSM, Revista de Gestão Ambiental and Sustainability and the Electronic Journal of Strategy & Business were the most prolific scientific periodicals and were among those with the highest degree. Simone Sehnem was the most prominent and central researcher. The University of the West of Santa Catarina was the most fruitful institution, however, the institutions: University of the South of Santa Catarina and University of Lincoln were the most central. Case study was the method most used by the authors and, consequently, it was the one that most involved researchers, making it the most central of this research. This study concludes and contributes to the scientific literature in the Environmental area and, for the circular economy theme, above all, a macro, contemporary and national view of this theme, through bibliometric indicators and social networks in 1 and 2 ways, thus helping to mitigate possible gaps in the academy on their understanding and, consequently, corroborating to spread, disseminate and socialize the knowledge that is inherent to the investigated subject, thus providing to broaden and strengthen their understanding for readers, professors, researchers, graduate students and professionals who wish to become deepen on the aforementioned theme.
