Covid-19 entre idosos: perfil das internações segundo sexo

Resumo

Objetivo: Comparar os aspectos demográficos e clínicos com o desfecho (cura ou óbito) das internações de COVID-19 entre idosos segundo sexo. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo ecológico, com análise do perfil dos indivíduos idosos, notificados com COVID-19 em Minas Gerais. Foram utilizados dados oriundos da Ficha de Registro Individual dos casos de Síndrome Respiratória Aguda Grave Hospitalizado a partir de 09 de março de 2020, referente a primeira notificação em idoso do Estado de Minas Gerais no banco, à 08 de março de 2022. A amostra final foi composta por 83.808 notificações de idosos com diagnóstico de COVID-19. Foi realizada análise descritiva e teste qui quadrado no Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Resultados: O perfil encontrado entre os idosos que evoluíram para óbito evidenciou que os homens tinham 80 anos ou mais e as mulheres 70├80 anos; ambos eram brancos, moravam na zona urbana, apresentavam fatores de risco, fizeram o uso de suporte ventilatório não invasivo e apresentaram necessidade de internação na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva. Conclusão: Nota-se uma diferença de idade entre os idosos homens e mulheres na evolução para óbito, enquanto as demais características foram semelhantes. Este fato possibilita a reflexão dos impactos na saúde em diferentes grupos de indivíduos.
