Abstract

O processo de implementação da Lei Maria da Penha (Lei 11.340/06), prestes a completar dez anos, demanda um redirecionamento de políticas públicas, a fim de otimizar a proteção das mulheres. A estrutura da rede básica de atendimentos carece de espaços efetivos que confiram às mulheres novas possibilidades de escolhas para romper com os ciclos de violências. Neste sentido, este artigo tem por objetivo analisar os limites e as potencialidades das políticas de abrigamento hoje existentes no Brasil, com base em uma revisão bibliográfica, sobretudo dos campos do Direito Assistencial, de autoras/es da Teoria Feminista e dos textos de algumas políticas de atendimento às mulheres. O resultado esperado consiste em apontar novas possibilidades de abrigamento que carecem de investimento e atenção pública.
