Spatial dimensions of urban violence in Goiás: Cases of firearm homicides from 2007 to 2021

This article has as its theme urban violence in the state of Goiás, based on surveys on the number of homicides and femicides resulting from the use of firearms, between 2007 and 2021. unequal urban space and urban violence with a focus on the spatialization of homicides and femicides by firearms in Goiás, according to Integrated Regions of Public Security. The proposed discussion is based on a qualitative-quantitative, critical and dialectical methodological approach, based on theoretical-conceptual bibliographic research and documental research on data and information on the lethality of armed violence, with a survey of the number of homicides and femicides with the use of firearms. fire in Goiás, by Integrated Public Security Regions. Finally, it is expected to contribute with reflections on urban violence, in an interdisciplinary perspective, as a result of the unequal production of space and class conflicts, it is still noted that from the analysis of homicides and femicides by firearms in In Goiás, there is a process of spatialization of armed violence throughout the state, but with greater concentration in the Integrated Regions of Public Security formed by municipalities that integrate metropolitan areas and in medium-sized cities in the interior of the state.
