The present study aims to characterize articles published on online CAP in an educational environment, identifying the research contexts and potentialities of these communities. To this end, a systematic review of the literature was carried out, based on the definition of search descriptors and inclusion/exclusion criteria, following Okoli's (2015) guide for the survey of articles available in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The corpus of the review was composed of 22 articles, with the adoption of content analysis. The results reveal that the main research contexts of the CAP are in the influence of the didactic-pedagogical organization for higher education students and in the training of teachers. They also show that these communities have high potential in promoting a more holistic education, of a cultural and emotional nature, in addition to the sense of community and exchange of knowledge.
